Siegmund Eye Care is in Carolina Forest, just blocks off Highway 31 at the Grissom Parkway and International Drive exit. We’re next to Dunkin’ Donuts, on the corner of River Oaks Drive and International Drive, which makes us simple to get to from anywhere in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas. If you have been looking for an eye doctor in Carolina Forest instead of driving over to the beach side for an appointment, this is the office. Both doctors see patients here, the lens lab is on site, and the frame boards are in the same building.

Friday is the short day. We close at 1:00pm, so if you are booking late in the week, call ahead rather than turning up in the afternoon.

Getting here

The easiest landmark is the Dunkin’ Donuts. We share the corner with it, where River Oaks Drive meets International Drive. Coming off Highway 31, take the Grissom Parkway and International Drive exit and you are two minutes away. If you are using a map app, search the practice name rather than the street number. River Oaks Drive runs a long way across Carolina Forest, and the name drops you at the right end of it. Parking is directly outside the door, so you are not hunting for a space or walking a lot.

What we do at this office

Everything happens under one roof. Eye exams and contact lens fittings, medical eye care for things like glaucoma, dry eye and diabetic screening, and the optical boutique with over 700 designer frames on the wall. The lens lab is here too, which is why most single vision lenses are ready the same day rather than in a week. Both our optometrists are family, and the practice has been family-run from the start. All of it happens at this office, in Carolina Forest. You are not sent to a second location for a routine exam or to pick up your glasses.

Worth the drive from the rest of the strand

We are a Carolina Forest practice, and Highway 31 is what puts the rest of the area within easy reach. It runs behind the beach for the length of the strand, so the drive in from Conway, Socastee or Forestbrook is a short one, and coming from Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet or North Myrtle Beach is one road rather than working your way up Highway 17.

Coming in for the first time

Set aside about an hour. Bring your insurance details, and bring a pair of sunglasses, because if we dilate your eyes the drive home is a lot more comfortable with them. If you are driving in from further down the strand, plan around the dilation and leave yourself a little extra time before anything you have to drive to afterward.
