We fit a wide range of contact lenses, and whatever you wear now, there’s almost certainly a version of it that fits better.

- RGP lenses: rigid gas permeable, what most people still call hard lenses
How a contact lens fitting works
A good fit starts with a thorough eye exam, both to get your prescription right and to rule out anything that would make contact lens wear uncomfortable or unwise. From there we choose a lens based on your prescription, the shape and health of your eye, and how you actually live. Someone in front of a screen all day and someone out on a boat every weekend don’t need the same lens.
In most cases you’ll get to try lenses on the same day as your exam, and you can usually go home with a few samples before committing to anything. We follow up after that first fitting and change the fit or the material if it isn’t right yet.
Learning to look after them
We teach every patient how to care for their lenses properly, and we’re straight with you about what happens if that care slips. Then we keep an eye on things long term, checking the condition of the lenses and making sure hygiene is holding up. It’s the least interesting part of wearing contacts and the part that causes almost all the problems.
